Nvidia, a major tech company known for its chips and graphics cards, made history by becoming the first company to be worth $5 trillion.

On Wednesday, Oct. 25, Nvidia announced this achievement, making it the first company worth $5 trillion in the world. This comes three months after they broke $4 trillion.

This is due to the high demand for Nvidia's AI chips, which has caused the company's stock to grow rapidly since early 2023. Then on Tuesday, Oct. 28, Nvidia's stock saw another day of gains after CEO Jensen Huang spoke about the company's future during the NVIDIA GTC Washington D.C. During the keynote, Huang mentioned seeing Nvidia's chips in everything from cell phone towers to self-driving cars.

Huang announced several new partnerships, including Uber and Nokia. The partnership with Uber would bring the largest 4-ready mobility network. Uber would use Nvidia's next-gen robotaxis and autonomous delivery fleets, which are powered by NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Hyperion-ready vehicles. This will be a unified ride-hailing service that includes both human and robot drivers.

"Robotaxis mark the beginning of a global transformation in mobility -- making transportation safer, cleaner and more efficient," said Huang. "Together with Uber, we're creating a framework for the entire industry to deploy autonomous fleets to scale powered by NVIDIA AI infrastructure. What was once science fiction is fast becoming an everyday reality."

Under the new ecosystem, Uber will be able to support a growing global autonomous fleet of up to 100,000 starting in 2027.

Huang also talked about a strategic partnership with Nokia to develop and deploy the next generation AI native mobile networks and AI networking infrastructure. It will add NVIDIA-powered, commercial-grade AI-RAN products to Nokia's industry-leading RAN portfolio. With the help of T-Mobile U.S., Nokia and Nvidia would integrate AI-RAN technologies into their 6G networks. This will mean customers will have "seamless network experiences."

"The next leap in telecom isn't just from 5G to 6G -- it's a fundamental redesign of the network to deliver AI-powered connectivity, capable of processing intelligence from the data center all the way to the edge. Our partnership with NVIDIA, and their investment in Nokia, will accelerate AI-RAN innovation to put an AI data center into everyone's pocket," said Justin Hotard, President and CEO of Nokia. "We're proud to drive this industry transformation with Nvidia, Dell Technologies, and T-Mobile U.S., our first AI-RAN deployments in T-Mobile's network will ensure America leads in the advanced connectivity that AI needs."

Nvidia is among many tech companies that are worth trillions of dollars. Below is the ranking of the top tech companies and their worth.
